OUR STORY

In 2005 three familes came to State College with a hope of reaching Penn State and the Centre region with the love of Christ.  Through campus ministry we launched our worship service in 2006.  Since then we have been working to love our neighbors, serve our community and share the Gospel with the people we meet.

SUNDAY WORSHIP SERVICE

Sunday mornings from 10:30am-12:00pm at the UEC Theater 125 Premiere Dr. State College, Pa 16801

PREACHING

The sermons are approximately 30 minutes long and are a mix of exegetical (working through a specific bible passage) and topical (choosing a theme and looking at how the bible as a whole addresses it). Check out our Resources page to download a sermon.

New Hope Kids

The focus of our kid's program is to be Safe, Fun, and Formative.  We want all children entrusted to our care to experience the love and joy of Jesus.

New Hope has a warm and friendly nursery for children from 6 month to 10 years.  Kids will have plenty of fun playing, but will also have music, a short bible story, and a craft or game as it is age appropriate.  This program runs the full length of the worship service.   Week after week they can learn how amazing God is!

Our Logo
New Hope Logo_Navy 281.png

We just recently changed our logo.  As part of the design process we knew we wanted the cross to be prominent.  We believe that Jesus should be at the center of everything we do as a faith community.  It is his life, sacrificial death and resurrection that gives the world hope.

Jesus’ death on the cross unequivocally proclaims that God passionately loves us and wants to be in a relationship with us.  Paul writes in Romans 5:8 “But God demonstrates his own love for us in this: While we were still sinners, Christ died for us. (NIV)  The cross definitively says, to all who are willing to listen, that God loves us.  If the Bible is God’s love letter to humanity--- then the cross is the sweetest and clearest expression of his affection for us

It is not uncommon for people to say “I love you.” But actions speak louder than words. Our heavenly Father was not content to just tell us how he feels, he wanted to show us. Jesus demonstrated his love for us through his willing death on a cross.   It wasn’t the nails that held Jesus to that cross it was his love for us.

Jesus during his earthly ministry said, “If anyone would come after me, let him deny himself and take up his cross daily and follow me.” (Luke 9:23 ESV)  The cross is not only a symbol of God’s love it is also an invitation to experience new life.  We must embrace the cross if we are going to experience the joy of the resurrection.  We believe that the cross is an invitation to freedom and new life.
